Selçuk is a big guy, and train seats are definitely not designed with him in mind. Still, we had to tackle those train journeys between Madrid ➡️ Barcelona, and Barcelona ➡️ Paris because, well, I just love trains! 😍There's something magical about watching the world pass by through a train window. 🚂Even the fact that it was not the most comfortable journey, the views were absolutely stunning—I couldn't get enough of the landscapes we passed by. Yet I have no beautiful photos because I was so busy having fun. 🙈 (Which I am greatful for)I know there are so many other magical train routes in Europe, and I'm leaving a manifestation here to experience them too. 💫 Do you love trains? Elvas, the final stop on our Spain and Portugal road trip, welcomed us with its charming narrow streets and vibrant yellow-and-white buildings. 🏰😊 It is a city near Portugal-Spain border and we stayed at a hostel located at #oldtown part.The time we went there there was the Euro Cup finals with Spain and England playing. The match was shown in the town center, and we watched it with a small group of locals. ⚽️Neither the hostel staff nor the villagers spoke English, and we didn't know Portuguese, only a little Spanish. We used a bit of Spanish to communicate, and they did their best to understand us. 🙏 When we struggled, we used online tools for help, but not extensively.Language might be important for communication, but it’s not the only way to connect. Where there’s a will, there’s always a way. 🌟 I don't know what others think but don’t let language hold you back from exploring the world. 💛But learn other languages if you have the opportunity of course. Learning a language can be a bit challenging, but you don’t have to speak perfectly or memorize all the rules. Even learning just a little can be enough to communicate better. It’s possible to learn a language at a beginner level in 3 to 6 months. Five years from now, you might regret not starting today, so why not begin now? 🌍✈️Well, okay. Best and the cheapest activity in Lisbon?🚊 Absolutely taking a city tour on tram number 28! 🚋🌟 The ride takes about 1 hour, and this iconic tram will bring you to the best tourist spots in the city. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the view. 🏙🪙 It costs around €3 per person.
🧾 Tickets can be purchased on board by cash and at kiosks.Tips:❗I highly recommend heading to the first station to catch the tram there, as it gets pretty crowded in the city center.

The best places aren't always the most well-known ones. I usually don't enjoy spending time in big cities. If you're like me, you already know there's so much to discover in small towns. 🌍✨We rented a car in Madrid and set off for Portugal, aiming to explore small coastal towns along the way. 🌊 After traveling through northern Spain, my favorite place was this small coastal town between Porto and Lisbon. What made our experience even more delightful was stumbling upon the Atlantic Spot guest house. 🏡 It was incredibly affordable, yet everything was thoughtfully designed for a perfect stay. One of the most unique stops on our trip was Porto. While I can't say I loved the city that much due to its complex layout and heavy tourism, it was still a delight to view it from both the lower and upper levels. There are some amazing spots for photography.Exploring this city on foot can be tiring because of the steep hills, but I think it’s the most enjoyable way. Especially if you don't want to spend 50 euros per person on a half-hour tuk-tuk tour. 🛺😀 (But to be honest it is a good experience too.) If you're up for walking 25,000 steps, you can see many beautiful sights. 😊The best and most affordable tourist activity is the cable car. For just 7 euros, you can enjoy the city's best views.
