Most of the outdoor brands are using down and wool in their products. Their products are not vegan. However there are some brands following some rules in the process and use of down. Traceable Down Standard is one of the certificates are applied. What is TDS ?
What is TDS?
Traceable Down Standard (TDS) ensures that down in garments and other household and commercial products comes from a responsible source that respects animal welfare and can be transparently traced.
- Animal welfare, including non-force feeding and non-live plucking.
- Traceability management systems, including all documents, showing an unbroken chain of custody of the verified down.
This standard is not enough for animal rights. But at least the system is changing step bu step. We will see better days for sure.
